About us
Our Story: Preserving History, Respecting the Reader
At Calixor, we believe that ancient wisdom should not be buried under microscopic text or hidden behind confusing marketing claims.
We started this journey out of a shared frustration. The Ethiopian biblical tradition holds some of the most profound, beautiful, and sought-after texts in early Christian history—such as the full Book of Enoch and Jubilees. Yet, when we looked at the editions available to modern readers, we found a disappointing choice: you either had to buy texts riddled with modern theological bias, or accept massive volumes where the layout was so cramped that reading became an exercise in eye strain.
We thought there was room for a more thoughtful, honest approach.
Why We Do Things Differently
Our mission is simple: we source respected English translations of ancient traditions and present them in formats that respect both the integrity of the text and the comfort of the reader.
We don't believe in cutting corners. When we realized that squeezing the expanded Ethiopian canon into a single paperback would compromise the font size, we made the conscious choice to split our edition into a high-quality, two-volume set. It costs more to produce, but it allows the pages to breathe and gives you a standard, readable font size for lifelong study.
Absolute Transparency
We are not a massive, faceless publishing house, and we don't believe in gimmicks or exaggerated claims. We are a small, dedicated team that believes in total transparency. That is why we show you our exact Table of Contents and visual flip-throughs upfront—so you know precisely what you are adding to your library before you purchase.
We manage our own shop and answer our own emails. If you have a question about our text layout, shipping, or the contents of our editions, reach out to us—a real person who cares about your study journey will reply.
Calixor is for the serious students, the historical researchers, and those who want to dive deeper into ancient scripture—comfortably, honestly, and on their own terms.
